What is WHAM?

WHAM is an unofficial association of 32 members of clergy representing 20 Houses of Worship and 4 Ministries in the Townships of Cranbury, East Windsor, Hightstown, Plainsboro and West Windsor in Central New Jersey.

The Houses of Worship include 30 churches, 2 synagogues and a mosque. The Ministries include Princeton Healthcare System; Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton, NJ; Mercer County Community College; and Plainsboro Police Department.

 

What is the purpose of WHAM?

This organization was formed in 1976 by clergy in the area for the purpose of developing cooperation and understanding of social and cultural problems among their Houses of Worship, and to assist them and their participating ministry partners in solving these problems.

The Executive Council

The Executive Council for 2023-2024 includes:

President: The Rev. Jan Willem Van der Werff, First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck

Vice President: The Rev. John D. Callanan, Chaplain Meadow Lakes

Secretary: Rabbi Matthew S. Nover, Beth El Synagogue

Treasurer: Pastor Sammy Arroyo, The First United Methodist Church, Hightstown, NJ.
